Drinking water is part of the way many capsules and tablets are taken. Read them together with the information about the portion and whether to take it with a meal.

Complete method of application

The phrase "take it with water" describes the intended method of taking a specific form of preparation. If the manufacturer indicates the volume, refer it to the correct portion and not automatically to each capsule separately. Do not open the capsule and dissolve the contents without confirming that such use is permitted. Products with different coatings may have different rules. The fact that another preparation with a similar ingredient can be dissolved does not mean that the methods of use are equivalent.

Meal and drinks

Taking with a meal is separate information from the drinking recommendation. The use of water alone does not decide whether to use the product on an empty stomach. Don't assume that coffee, tea or juice will always be equivalent substitutes, especially for medications and other preparations you use. Additional drink ingredients can make a difference to your overall regimen. Clarify any confusion with the manufacturer or pharmacist, rather than creating your own routine based on your habits with another supplement.

Convenience and the right portion

If swallowing is difficult, do not solve the problem by taking multiple capsules at once or crushing unsuitable tablets. You can consider a different form of the product, but you need to compare the composition and recommended amount again. People with fluid intake restrictions should discuss the method of use with a specialist. Water has no contraindications or interactions, and drinking it correctly does not justify the use of an unnecessary preparation. Do not change the daily dose for more convenient swallowing.
