Similar names refer to different types of product information. Before comparing the number of capsules, it is worth determining whether the description refers to microorganisms, an ingredient used by microorganisms, or a combination of both. The ending of the name alone does not allow us to determine its use.
Start with a name and declaration
For microorganisms, check the genus, species and strain designation. The group's abbreviated name does not identify a specific culture. Information relating to a specific strain should not be automatically transferred to every preparation containing bacteria with a similar name or fermented product.
How to read CFU
CFU describes colony-forming units used to declare the amount of viable microorganisms. Check the serving size and whether the value is for production or end of life. A larger number does not in itself determine the benefit. Also, don't directly compare CFU with weight in milligrams.
Don't confuse different categories
A prebiotic is not simply a smaller amount of a probiotic. When the product is presented as a combination, please read the information about each part separately. Don't assume that the presence of fiber alone explains all the features of a recipe. Selecting a specific application requires relevant data, not just name similarity.
Storage is part of information
Note the date and conditions provided by the manufacturer. Do not transfer cooling recommendations from another product. In case of serious illness or weakened immunity, discuss the choice of preparation with your doctor. This guide explains the labels and does not match the strain to symptoms or treatment.
