FEROSUP · Skincare

Moisturizing the skin means supporting the appropriate water content in the epidermis and limiting its excessive loss. This is a basic concept in the descriptions of creams, serums and gels for body care.

Water and the epidermal barrier

The outermost layer of the epidermis is involved in retaining water. Its condition affects the smoothness of the surface and the feeling of tightness. The cosmetic can provide water-binding substances, supplement lipid ingredients and create a layer that limits evaporation. These functions complement each other, so the mere presence of water at the beginning of INCI does not indicate how long the comfort will last after application. Oily consistency is also not an independent measure of moisturizing effectiveness.

How to read promises

In the descriptions you will find intense or long-lasting hydration. It is worth relating them to a specific formulation and method of use, instead of comparing adjectives themselves. A gel that quickly disappears from the skin may give a different feeling than a cream that leaves a delicate film. Information about the duration of action requires separate justification for the finished product. It should not be derived from the properties of one ingredient or transferred between different cosmetics of the same brand.

Daily care

Apply the cosmetic in the amount and area indicated by the manufacturer. In the case of regular body moisturizers, it is helpful to use them after washing on slightly damp skin, if the instructions do not require drying it. A gentle washing method and avoiding excessive friction complete the care. If persistent burning or redness occurs, do not increase the amount in hopes of better hydration. Chronic skin problems require evaluation of their cause.
